The latest DC film, Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) is out, and it kicks ass. I seriously enjoyed the hell out of this movie. When I first saw the trailer, it didn't look too impressive. I feared it would be another loud, nonsensical mess like Suicide Squad, or generic and forgettable like Aquaman. I was wrong.  Birds is directed by Cathy Yan, and I have to say that DC should hire more female directors, as Yan is the 2nd one to knock her film out of the park (the 1st being Patty Jenkins with Wonder Woman). The story zips by fast and is told in a non linear fashion. It could've easily fallen apart many times, but Yan keeps a tight reign on it, taking the time to slow down just enough to let the actors shine and build their characters, while also keeping the fight scenes beautifully choreographed. Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch has arrived. She's the latest figure from Tamashii Nations' Avengers MCU line.  Wanda comes with 4 pairs of hands (relaxed, open, and 2 sets of curled finger hands, one with holes in the palm to attach effect parts), an alternate face plate looking off to the side, an alternate front hair piece that's more wavy, and 3 effect parts, molded in red, with one shooting out. Once again, Tamashii Nations gives us an extra face with the only difference being the eyes looking in another direction. For a while it seemed to be only the female MCU figures getting this treatment, but then they did the same thing with their Endgame Hawkeye release. A more appropriate alternate face would've been an angry expression with glowing red eyes. As for the energy effect parts, the one shooting out looks the best, with its translucent red that gradually changes to clear at the tip. The other 2, while ok, kinda resemble flowers.  ...

While browsing through the Ami Ami site, I came across this figure from Figma. An articulated version of Edvard Munch's The Scream painting. I immediately thought it was cool. It seems that Figma released a few figures from their series known as The Table Museum, which featured other famous artworks such as The Thinker sculpt, etc. So I went ahead and purchased this one. The figure comes with a stand, the background reproduction that can be put on the stand, an extra wrist peg, and 5 pairs of hands (flat, peace sign, heart shape, open and holding). All of the extra hands are very nice, and the details of the figure are well detailed. It resembles a statuesque version of the painting's figure, with the color strokes that match the artwork.
