This week I received Sailor Chibi Moon, the daughter of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask. Like the other sailor scouts, she’s dressed in a mini skirt, gloves, boots, bow in front and at back. She sports thick ponytails, with curly bangs coming down the front. Her color scheme is pink and white. She’s smaller than the others, a little under 4” tall.
Sailor Chibi comes with 4 face plates (smiling, open mouth smiling, frowning, open mouth yelling), 6 pairs of hands (fists, relaxed, open palm, holding, pointing and peace sign), a pink moon stick, an alternate pair of bangs, and a stand with her name on it. The portraits are replaced by removing her bangs and switching them out. The wrist pegs are small but seem to be thick and sturdy, so switching hands is easy. Other than a small streak of pink paint on her right arm, everything else is painted and sculpted nicely.
Her articulation includes ball jointed head, ball jointed ponytails, ball jointed shoulders and thighs, single jointed elbows and knees, swiveled elbows, wrists and upper torso on ball peg, and ball jointed ankle rockers. Her thighs have a bit of a swivel, but the range is limited. She can stand on her own, but like the rest of the scouts, she’ll most likely need the stand to keep her from falling over, since her thick ponytails can make her head top heavy. The moon stick fits snuggly in her holding hands, and despite its small size, it’s sculpted and painted well.
S.H. Figuarts Sailor Chibi Moon is a another cool release from their Sailor Moon line. Since she’s so small, you may want to use caution when switching out her wrists or displaying her with her moon stick, as they are all tiny and could easily get lost if you were to accidentally drop one. Otherwise, feel free to pose her with the rest of the scouts, or in a crossover display with other characters.
