My latest NECA horror figure was Michael Myers from the 2018
Halloween movie. The film was pretty decent, better than some of the sequels.
NECA did a good job with this Michael Myers.
As for accessories, he comes with an alternate head, a
decapitated head from one of his victims in the movie, a knife, a hammer and a
long hook, a Judith Myers gravestone, a jack-o-lantern that lights up, and
several interchangeable hands, including one with 2 fingers cut off.
The paint and details are very nice, from the creases on his
blue jumpsuit, to the creases with stains on his 2 masks. One mask seems to be
slightly more worn and scruffy than the other, that’s the one I prefer out of
the 2.
The articulation is standard for NECA human figures. The
neck moves around and is attached to a peg, the shoulders can move all the way
around, the elbows can bend though they’re not double jointed, the waist can
pivot side to side and back and forth, the thighs can move up and quite far
outward, almost doing the splits, knee joints but also not double jointed, and
ankle that moves forward up and down a bit. NECA’s human figures have never
been able to get a very wide range of motion for really expressive poses, but
they’re pretty decent for the most part.
Like most NECA human figures, Michael Myers stands taller
than S.H. Figuarts, MonsterArts and Figmas. He’s more in scale with Marvel
Legend figures.
He’s a nice figure and goes well with the rest of my NECA
horror characters. It’s nice that NECA figures are pretty affordable, and they
seem to have a wide variety of horror icons, both classic and new, to choose
from. I just saw that NECA will be releasing a Laurie Strode figure from the
2018 film as well, which is cool. Michael Myers is one of my favorite horror
ghouls, I’m glad to now own an articulated one.
