My Top 10 Favorite Godzilla Films

As we come up 1 week until the new Godzilla: King of the Monsters film is released, I’ve been reflecting on my lifelong love for Godzilla. Since as long as I can remember I’ve always been into monsters and creepy stuff. I still have vaguely vivid memories of the first G film I watched (Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster) on TV. I have several Godzilla tattoos. Multiple action figures. Pretty much every film on DVD. Soundtracks. T-shirts. I even have a goofy mask. I’m a big Godzilla fan, no doubt about it. I decided to compile a list of my 10 favorite Godzilla films, in no particular order.   GMK aka Giant Monsters All Out Attack I remember the first time I watched this flick. I had gotten a bootleg VHS (damn, remember those?) from a store in the bay area area called Kimono My House. I watched it in the afternoon and was wowed at how awesome it was. The incredible kaiju fights. The story. The effects. The actors. The twisted sense of humor (the woman screaming hysterically in

Designer's Chair set (lounging in style)

Today I received in the mail 2 pieces from the 1:12 Designer’s Chair set. I received DC-4 and DC-5 (a black lounge and a red and white roundish one). I got them from the Ami Ami site. They’re pretty cool designer chairs that are made specifically for 1:12 figures. I own a lot in that scale (mostly SH Figuarts) so I thought I’d pick some up.         Out of the 2 the red one is my favorite, looks-wise. Its design is both modern and retro, reminding me of some of the types of furniture from the 70’s. However, due to the small opening, not all figures are able fit comfortably inside of it. It works best with human/Ultraman type figures, though some of the Ultramen with more spikes on their head may impede their ability to fit inside, as well as if the figure is able to have a good upper torso/waist crunch and good leg articulation.         This round one is white on the outside with red on the inside and comes with 2 red cushions. They can ei

NECA Godzilla 2019

Today I picked up the new Legendary Godzilla figure from NECA. I picked him up at Gamestop. There are several differences between this one and their 2014 release. This one sports newly designed dorsal spines, bigger feet, a lighter wash on the body so the details stand out more, different colored eyes, and a segmented tail that's in 10 sections. There is an extra joint in this one on the wrist that allows for more in and out movement. The 2014 release didn't have that. While some have complained that their figures got derpy, misaligned eyes, my figure turned out good in that sense. The one QC issue I did notice was that the right side of the face has a spot where it looks like they may have forgotten to cover in the lighter wash. It stands out more when it's in direct light. Like the 62 release, it comes in a collectible box. It also comes with a small instruction slip that advices you to use hot water to help attach the tail. You can also

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Belial

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Belial was a figure I wasn't initially planning to get when it was first announced. In the initial photos I saw, his legs appeared short and stubby. Plus, I already own the Ultra Act version. Once it was released and I saw better pics and video reviews my mind was changed and I got him. This guy is really nice. Fantastic paint and sculpt, really nice articulation and a decent price make him worth it. And he's in scale with the rest of my Figuarts' as well. As for movement,  he's articulated at the head, neck, mouth can open and close a bit, shoulders, elbows, torso & waist, thighs, knees, ankles and toes. The neck and head can't move too far to the sides, so that is limited. The shoulders sport butterfly joints, which give him a wide range when posing the arms. The thighs can kick out far to the side. The accessories included are open hands, relaxed hands and fists with holes in them to fit his weapon. There&#
