Premium Bandai Sevenger (from Ultraman Z)

Several months ago I purchased this off eBay. Since it was a pre-order that was released in April, it just came last week. I really love the robot Sevenger from the Ultraman Z series, and this was announced months before the S.H. Figuarts, so I took a chance on it. The big gimmick with this figure is that it can be powered with a battery placed in the back and play various pieces of music from the show, as well as recorded voices from the characters Haruki and Yoko (the 2 pilots). The eyes also light up and there’s a button on the right wrist that fires it when pressed down. Besides those features, this figure doesn’t have much else going for it. The details of the sculpt are really nice. He comes with 2 interchangeable hands (fists and open palms), 2 different battery packs (blue charged and red low battery), and 4 sets of eyes (regular, mean, crossed and closed). The articulation is where this figure disappoints. The head can turn all the way around. The arms, elbows, thighs and knee

Mafex Mera (from Aquaman)

After what seemed like an eternity, with multiple delays, Mafex has finally released their Mera figure from the Aquaman film. Mafex has a tendency to delay releases (I believe their Infinity War Captain America has been delayed twice already), so if you pre-order something from them, it may be a whole year until it finally reaches you.  The figure comes with two heads (one with hair flowing to the side and the other wearing a crown), 5 pairs of hands (fists, holding, and 3 different open palm variants), an extra pair of hands shooting water, 6 wine spears, a stand for the wine spears, a stand to hold the shooting water, a stand for the figure, and the cannister thing (I forgot the name of it) that she and Aquaman used to unlock a holographic message that leads them to find the trident of Atlan. Mera is dressed in a bluish/turqoise body suit, with long red hair and the symbol of Atlantis on her torso. The body suit is quite detailed, with scale-like patterns all throughout. As for the f

Y-MSF Condor and SHF Upgrade Alpha Edge Effect Part

My latest purchases were 2 small items. The first is the Y-MSF Condor that made a solo appearance in Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster. In a very memorable and funny scene, Godzilla is about to snooze off when a giant condor suddenly appears and attacks his face. It all ends with Godzilla blasting the poor thing with atomic breath before it falls into the ocean and dies. The company Y-MSF is known for making vinyl figures of rarer kaiju that Bandai hasn't made, and this is on of their latest. The figure is a simple, basic condor bird. It's in a flying position with wings spread, legs tucked underneath. It's brown with tannish highlights. It is nicely detailed, with feathers, the beak and talons being decently sculpted. The only articulation is on the tail, which turns. While the 2 wings are separate pieces, they don't really move. The figure is smaller than the standard Monster Arts figures, but it is accurately in scale, as the Giant Condor was about the same size compared
