There have been several figure  announcements over the past few weeks that have caught collectors attention. Some of those include the upcoming Hiya Toys Ghidorah and several new Godzilla sculpts, and the new Gamera figure based on the anime trilogy. I think the new Gamera design is cool, and it’s nice to see the big turtle getting some love. But the announcement that has gotten me psyched is the upcoming S.H. Figuarts Eleking! I’m always wanting SHF to give us more kaiju, and Eleking was at the top of my list for most desired one.  It looks like those prayers have been answered. Photos have just dropped of the prototype, and damn, does it look sweet! Eleking is one of Tsuburaya’s most popular kaiju from the Ultraman series, having continued to appear in various shows since his debut in Ultraseven (his most recent appearance was last year, in Ultraman Trigger). The figure is set to drop in September, and as soon as he’s up for pre-order, I’ll be pulling the trigger. So thank you, SHF,

It's been a while since I've gotten a new release figure. Tamashii Nations decided to give us an updated version of their Mecha King Ghidorah, with an added accessory that the previous release didn't include (though this one doesn't come with the 3 little Dorat figures, the creatures that were used to create King Ghidorah in the 1991 film, that this character also hails from). I received this rad dude a few days ago, so let's dive in and check him out. The sculpt is accurate to the monster's suit, mostly silver and gold, everything painted and sculpted very nicely. The mechanical head has some red hightlights on the neck, as well as a rocket inside the mouth, and translucent green eyes. The wings are a nice gold color, with silver frame. There's a translucent circular segment on the chest, where the cyborg was piloted from within. In the film, after Godzilla defeated King Ghidorah, Emmie, who was from the future, went back to her time and revived Ghidorah
