There has been some recent action figure news that caught my attention. The first one was the reveal of Mafex's first Wonder Woman figure based on a comic (Superman For Tomorrow). I'd always wanted to see Mafex give us a Wonder Woman comic figure, and now that I see the promo pics, I think she looks great. She comes with 3 different face sculpts, as well as hair sculpts (I'm not sure if the face plates are interchangeable, hopefully they are). She also comes with a cloth cape, a shield, a sword,  and a removable skirt and belt, to display her with her classic briefs. Some people complained that they didn't include her lasso of truth, but I don't mind, as I think her accessories are very good. Plus, I can always use any of the other lasso accessories that came with my other Wonder Woman figures. I instantly pre-ordered this figure. The other Mafex reveal was a Superman from that same comic. I'm not that big of a Superman fan so I won't be getting it, but that...

After getting the new Future Factory Action Figure Mirrorman and seeing how great it was, I went ahead and purchased the company's other tokusatsu hero, Redman. He hails from the 1972 series of the same name, produced by Tsuburaya Productions. Each episode was like a 5 minute short that was featured on a children's variety program on Nippon TV. Redman was a man-sized hero who would fight with various kaiju from the Ultra series. The show was crudely shot, basically taking place outdoors in a field, and many of the Ultra kaiju costumes looked worn & goofy. Despite its amateur production, Redman has gained fame amongst tokusatsu fans. Episodes can be easily found on YouTube. Redman is, you guessed it, red, with silver boots, gloves, belt buckle, upper chest, neck and lower portion of his face. He sports a pair of silver antenna where his ears would be.
