Upcoming Releases

Now that SDCC has come and gone, there seems to be action figure news popping up everywhere. Lots of cool stuff coming soon. Here's several that caught my eye. NECA GODZILLA 1984 RESCULPT  NECA will re-release their 84 figure with some tweaks. They seem to have given it nicer, bigger, more suit accurate dorsal spines. The arms and hands seem to be resculpted as well. I think it looks so much better and I will definitely pick one up. NECA GODZILLA 1964 This figure has many fans excited, as the 64 suit is a fan favorite. It's not as accurate as the S.H. Monsterarts 64, but it's also nowhere as expensive. I think it looks good, and hopefully it will sport the same engineering that made their 62 a winner. NECA BURNING GODZILLA 2019 This figure looks really sweet. Fans expected a burning Godzilla 2019 to show up, but few thought NECA would be the first to put it out before S.H. Monsterarts. Hopefully the...

McFarlane Toys Saitama

Yesterday I found the McFarlane Toys Saitama at Walgreens for only $12 so I bought it. I already own a Saitama from Dasin, but this one looked decent. Once in hand, this figure is pretty disappointing. I guess the Dasin release spoiled me, because that one is a lot of fun, has a decent amount of accessories, good joints and 4 different heads, each with a different expression. This figure only has 2 heads, serious and slightly goofy, off to the side look. It only comes with 2 pairs of interchangeable hands, fists and relaxed. The joints on the McFarlane figure are just ok. They're a bit stiff at the knees and elbows. There's not a lot of range in the head and neck, nor the waist. One area where this figure does shine over the Dasin release is that its cape is a soft plastic. Though I will say that the harder plastic of the Dasin is still pretty decent. The facial expressions on both this figure's heads are kind of dull. They fail ...

NECA NES Godzilla Re-Issue

Today I picked up the NECA NES re-release Godzilla from my local shop, Zonkey Toys. It’s based on the NES video game.    It’s basically a repainted Godzilla 84 figure with re-sculpted dorsal spines that are quite large. The paint is green and grey, with pixelated patterns. The eyes are colored red.   This is basically the same figure that they released several years ago. The articulation points are on the head, neck, mouth, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, thighs, knees and ankles. He also has some articulation points on the tail.     Since this figure is a re-release, they gave us the old NECA style tails, with a long section at the end that has a bendy wire in it. It would’ve been nice if they had re-sculpted the tail to be segmented like they did with their G62 figure. That would’ve been a good improvement. Other than that, the figure is pretty cool.      I did notice that the...
