The latest figure I picked up is this 6" Batman from the 1966 series starring Adam West. It's a cool figure, and since I watched the show as a kid, and again in the late 80's when they played it to capitalize on the release of Tim Burton's film, it holds a nostalgic charm. The series was quite cheesy, but had memorable villains, such as Cesar Romero's Joker, Julie Newmar's Catwoman, and Frank Gorshin's Riddler.
This figure only comes with 2 action effect pieces, one that says Pow, the other, KaPow. In the series, whenever they would punch someone, cartoon bubbles would appear with such words. The plastic pieces clip onto Batman's wrist and stay on snug. As for the figure, it's a nice representation of the series version, from his lavender suit, blue cape, to small bat ears. The face looks just like Adam West, who's Batman is easily recognizable just about anywhere. There is some minor scruff on the Bat symbol on his chest, but overall, the paint is decent. His cape is soft fabric and seems to be attached to his neck. And his left hand is in a fist, while his right has curved holding fingers.
His articulation includes head on a swivel, swivel hinged shoulders, swivel hinged single jointed elbows, forearm swivel, wrist swivel, waist swivel, thigh swivel and single jointed knees. These joints are very old school, so you won't get him into any expressive poses that you would get with a Marvel Legends or import. He does have holes under his feet, so if you can get him onto a stand with small pegs, you can pose him running or kicking. One thing about his legs is that he's a bit difficult to stand, even when both feet are flat. It helps to tilt the knee joints back slightly, as his boots tend to lean forward.
Being 6 inches, he scales well with Mafex, S.H. Figuarts and Mattel heroes. While he doesn't come with any weapons, I noticed that some of my Jazzwares accessories can fit into his holding hand, so that's an option if you have other figures with guns/weapons.
McFarlane Toy's Retro Wave Batman is a decent little figure that will satisfy the old school lover in you. They could've done better with articulation and extras, but he's still cool enough. And who wouldn't want an Adam West action figure?
