Currently happening, the Tamashii Nations Live Action Figure Expo (Sept 12 - Nov 3, 2025) has revealed some up and coming figure releases. I always look forward to these events to see what new MonsterArts and Figuarts characters will be on the horizon.
The one that most caught my attention was this fierce bitch: S.H. MonsterArts Megaguirus. I've been wanting a highly articulated figure of this kaiju for years, and it looks like Bandai is finally giving her to us, to pair with their soon to be released Godzilla 2000. From what I've read online, it's going to be an Evolution set, which will most likely include a smaller Meganulon and Meganula. Also what appears to be a stand that will help her get into the curled tail flying pose. Godzilla x Megaguirus is one of my favorite films from the Millennium series. It's never been very well-liked by many fans, which I've always found odd. Is it a great film? No. But it's fast paced and fun, and has an interesting plot, involving shooting Godzilla with a miniature black hole so he can get sucked into it. It took some swings that I felt hit, as opposed to keeping it safe with already established monsters (Mechagodzilla, Mothra) and ideas (giant robot to defend Earth against G's attack, alien invasion). So yes, this announcement has me very psyched.
Here are some more photos of G2K, which is set to drop in 2 weeks.
From S.H. Figuarts, it looks like Melba from Ultraman Tiga will be coming. This will help to complete their Tiga line-up, since we already have Multi Type, Power Type and Golza. The all-purple Sky Type has also been announced.
And finally, here are some more random photos of my kaiju figures in action. I have not been able to stop messing with my Hiya Godzilla 91. That guy has quickly become my favorite articulated G figure, his articulation and sculpt is simply off the charts!
