While browsing online a while back ago, I came across this set of machines from various Godzilla films. After searching on ebay, I found a set for a decent price, so I went ahead and purchased it. It was delivered a week ago. The set includes 5 ships and one weapon, as well as 4 sets of bases and stands for the aerial vehicles.
Oxygen Destroyer
This silver contraption is from the very first Godzilla film from 1954. It was the secret weapon invented by Dr. Serizawa that he used to kill Godzilla. It worked by splitting oxygen molecules, causing severe ashyxiation and dissolving flesh. Since he felt the weapon could be dangerous in the wrong hands, he burned his notes after building it, and sacrificed himself so that the formula of how to build it would die with him.
It is highly detailed, from the silver outer "shell", to the small pressure gague on the end of it. The inside compartment, that contains the killer formula, is translucent plastic. Anyone who's a diehard fan of Godzilla should immediately recognize this iconic weapon.
Black Hole Alien Saucer
From the 1975 film Terror of Mechagodzilla, this was the flying saucer that the Black Hole aliens used to travel to Earth. They (the saucers) didn't appear until the very end, when the aliens tried to make a hasty getaway as their plan of conquest was failing. A quick blast of Godzilla's atomic breath cut their getaway trip short. I've always liked this ship's thin, sleek design, and was one of the main reasons I wanted to own this set.
KIDS Spaceship
From 1991's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, this was a small ship that was used for time travel by the Futurians. It resembles a sleek airship. When I got this set, I first confused this ship for the Griffon from Godzilla x Megaguirus.
The Xillian UFO
From 1965's Invasion of Astro-Monster (aka Godzilla vs. Monster Zero), these were the UFOs that the aliens from Planet X used for travel. They were also used to transport Godzilla and Rodan to their planet for a battle against King Ghidorah. These saucers are synonymous with Godzilla, as iconic as the Oxygen Destroyer.
P-1 Spacecraft
Also from the same film, this was the ship used by astronauts Fuji and Glenn (Akira Takarada and Nick Adams) to travel to Planet X. It resembles an old school rocketship.
These ships and weapon are a great collector's item for Godzilla fans. They are all well sculpted and painted, and are just the right size to be mostly in scale with most of the 1:12 kaiju figures I own. I've always enjoyed these type of accessories when they're included with figures (such as those produced by Titanic Creations), so these make good additions to my vast collection of kaiju. I hope they eventually release more sets.
Here's a small clip of the P-1 rocket ship.
