As Halloween gets closer, I thought I'd list off some favorite Halloween, horror themed and generally creepy music selections. Since as long as I could remember, I've always loved music, and anything with a weird, goth beat or creepy lyrics always caught my attention. Here are a few selections. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Halloween This band has recorded many creepy, weird songs throughout their career. Siouxsie Sioux is a punk/goth goddess whom I've loved for many years. Here is the song titled Halloween, off their 1981 album Juju. Siouxsie - Halloween Sonic Youth - Halloween This is a slow, strange tune, sung by Kim Gordon (another music goddess). It's off their album Bad Moon Rising, which features a scarecrow with a burning jack-o-lantern on the cover. It wasn't until I read Gordon's book that I understood why this song was titled Halloween. The other figure I picked up at Target along with MEGO's The Reptile was the NECA Ultimate Ghostface from the Scream films. I enjoyed the first 2 movies, especially Scream 2, which is a great sequel. Scream 3 was so-so, and I never bothered to watch the 4th one. The new one is scheduled to drop in January of 2022, and will feature the return of Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox, back to battle the masked assassin. I always found the costume worn by the killer(s) very simple yet memorable, especially the face inspired by the famous Munch painting, and NECA went all out to give us a great figure. Ghostface comes with 4 head sculpts (regular, blood splattered, green glow-in-the-dark and greyish worn), 3 different sized bloody knives, a scythe, a voice changer box, and 2 pairs of hands, each to hold his weapons and box. While browsing at Target I came across this cool retro figure. From the Hammer Studios 1966 film The Reptile, it's the title monster, a woman who's been transformed into a snake-like monster. MEGO decided to release her, and what a cool action figure she is. There are no accessories, simply the creature herself. She's in a cloth black dress, with green skin, large eyes and snake fangs, arms and legs molded in green, and boots. The paint on the face looks very good and accurately captures the film's monster, with scales, yellow highlights, and large orange eyes. MEGO did a great job on the sculpt. The dress is a nice soft, flexible material that doesn't impede her joints, allowing her a variety of poses. The figure is articulated in the neck, shoulders, elbows and knees (single jointed), thighs, upper waist, with wrists and ankles on swivels.
