More stuff was revealed at the Tamashii Nations 2024 Event, and look at what it is…. None other than the Godzilla 2000 film suit. S.H. MonsterArts had released a G2K, but it was based on the concept art, and not what the actual suit ended up looking like. For years, fans have been wanting MonsterArts to give us an accurate screen version of G2K, and finally, here it is! These photos show G2K in all his large headed, purple-spiked glory. What I find particularly interesting is that this comes a few months AFTER Hiya announced and put up for preorder their Godzilla 2000, which is set to drop during the 2nd quarter of 2025. I went ahead and preordered that one, since I honestly didn’t think SHMA would ever give us a screen accurate G2K. And yet, here we are. It looks like Hiya’s increasingly nice releases have lit a fire under SHMA’s ass, causing them to up their game. Nothing like a little friendly competition, eh? Tamashii Nations finally had their 2024 event, where they reveal a bunch of new figures in the works. These are the ones that have caught my attention.  Alien Hipporit is finally going up for pre-order. I recall him being revealed quite a while ago. I want to say maybe a year ago, but honestly, it feels like it was longer than that. Anyway, promo photos have made the rounds, and pre-orders go up this Friday the 15th, with a May 2025 release. I will definitely be getting him. The other two that immediately caught my attention were Birdon & Mother of Ultra. Birdon is one kaiju that I hoped S.H. Figuarts would eventually release, and considering that Taro hasn't gotten any of his co-stars, Birdon would be a great place to start. Here's hoping he doesn't sit in unproduced limbo for the next year or so. As for Mother of Ultra, it's about time she received a figure, especially since Father of Ultra dropped this last year. I'm hoping she drops in 2025. S.H. MonsterArts...

The other thing that came last week was the option parts set for the S.H. Figuarts Earth Garon (and Ultraman Blazar, which I don’t own). It includes several add on parts for Earth Garon, and a few effect parts for Blazar. The set allows you to have all of the robot’s arsenal of weapons. Included are the special flight support unit (a triangle shaped wing attachment), which helped to improve his aerial combat performance, a special combat unit (back attachment armed with two heavy weapons fixed above the shoulders), the ability to combine both these units so he can have his ultimate upgrade, a charged particle cannon beam that he fires from his mouth, a stand and base for the beam, and an extra pair of dark grey eyes. For Blazar, there is his Spiral Burrade weapon, which is a miniature black hole he forms in his hand, out of which he pulls out an energy spear that he throws at enemies to destroy them. And finally, a pair of hands with a peg in the palm where the black hole attaches to. ...
